Delta Wave Surf Shop is a Disabled Veteran owned and operated company.
Delta Waves are the brain waves that related to the deepest moments of sleep, bringing peace, healing and recovery. In addition, the Delta symbol, a triangle, represents change. These things combined are the embodiment of what we believe at Delta Wave Surf Shop; Finding rest, relaxation and peace, while also finding your flow state, adapting to and overcoming constant change in the world around us.
We are inspired by the life-changing experiences of surfing; finding hope, peace and healing through our great ocean. We aim to share the stoke and support others in their quest catch and conquer waves, in the ocean, and in life.
Meet the founder
Bert is a disabled combat veteran, who fell in love with surfing in 2021, when he had a life-changing experience through Operation Surf. He instantly embraced the ocean, and surfing (although he spends considerably more time falling off boards than actually riding them).
Through surfing, he began to come to terms and navigate his own mental health traumas; from PTSD, anxiety, depression and suicidal ideations, and began the journey of healing. He continues his journey daily, and through sharing his story, hopes that others will know that they're never alone.
His vision is to share the stoke and healing power of the ocean, to inspire others to know that true healing is possible.
